MASTER BEDROOM REMODEL
Growing up, I’m not sure how, but I ended up with the master bedroom in this house. My childhood bedroom is now our master bedroom. From the pictures it may not seem like a huge remodel but the photos lie. So, do you remember when you were growing up? Your room was your mini house. It was the only place that you could be yourself in the entire house. You could hang posters of crushes and bands; have your own homework area if you were lucky. Well, my childhood bedroom is no different. It was my mini house. When I was younger I had an obsession with pretty picture frames and putting pictures everywhere! Therefore, my room had a ton of built-ins for all of my many frames. My childhood room also had a built in desk area for homework and when I got a little older it became my computer area and vanity for getting ready in the morning. When I was younger all of these built-ins made sense and had a purpose, but now their purpose is to be deconstructed so we have room for the king size bed. Priorities people!
Here are some before pictures for you to see the built-ins in all their glory! Welcome to my childhood bedroom.
Apparently I liked the gray and white color scheme way back when as well… However, along with the built-ins, the pink closets have got to go. So we started tearing out all of the built-ins first, except the large closet area. Like any woman I have too many clothes to just completely get rid of a closet, so it’s staying.
Here are some after pictures of us tearing out the built-ins
And what do we find under all those built-ins… more wood paneling! So what did we do? We textured the walls in this room too.
Here are some pictures of the room with the putty on the walls.
Now that all the walls match, we can finally paint! YAY!!! Painting has become my new favorite thing because it means we are almost done with the walls.
This color gray that I used in the bedroom is very similar to the color in the living room and dining room but with a hint more blue in the color. I will be bringing some navy blue accents in this room which is why we went with a blue gray. There are a couple things left to do in this room such as new floors, new light fixture and finish painting the pink closet but we are almost there!

Our next project will be the kitchen!
