BACKGROUND/PROJECT INFO

Carrie Short

Thanks for stopping by my blog/portfolio site! It's a work in progress! So a little about myself, I live in Oklahoma and like so many, grew up in a town so small that literally everyone knew everyone, and still does.  I went to a Christian University where I graduated with a Bachelors in Graphic Design and Marketing Dynamics.  Now I am happily married to the man of my dreams, have a beautiful daughter and trying to make my dream job a reality.  #craftsarelife #interiordesigner

Professional Info

Right now I am working out of home. I have some projects underway already. We just finished remodeling our house. I have also assisted a church in Colorado Springs with a new design for their Sanctuary and now they are talking about opening a coffee shop! With the right amount of luck they will get to put in a coffee shop close to their church and if they do they have asked for my help in designing the coffee shop! Along with this potential project, I will also be helping with the redesigning the parsonage.  Big things coming in the future and I can't wait to share them with you guys!

Past, Present and Upcoming Projects

Projects In The Works
In 2019 I was hired by Modsy as an Interior Design stylist. I work as an online consultant to design 3D rooms for clients so that they have an accurate visual of what their spaces could look like with new furnishings and paint. As of 2018, I have been working with a few local clients who are completely flipping their recently purchased homes. These clients have experienced all of the ups and downs of renovation. They started off excited and full of ideas then quickly became overwhelmed with all that needed to be fixed or redone. I've helped them prioritize their needs and take them one step at a time to make their homes beautiful.

2015-2017

My husband and I spent a total of three and a half months renovating our house that we inherited from my mother.  It's an older home with a ton of character. I have some excellent before and after pictures on my blog! Also on the agenda for 2017, the same church that I helped design the Sanctuary for is also looking to open a coffee shop which I will be helping them design! It should be very fun to see the transformations! Can't wait to share them with you! In 2015 I rented a booth and sold refinished furniture along with reupholstered pieces. I assisted with the design of a Sanctuary for a special church near and dear to my heart located in Colorado Springs.  While in the Springs I also helped make a small drab apartment take on an industrial chic feel on a low budget! To me, designing on a low budget is a fun challenge.  I love getting to know how much you can do with what little budget you have.
