MOM'S HOUSE BEFORE
So, the house as I said before is just over 1100 square feet. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. I have so many great plans for this house and I hope you get to follow my renovation story as my husband and I continue working on it! I’m only showing you the before pictures now because we are still renovating. Every room needs to be tackled in some way so it will be a lengthy process but hopefully pay off in the long run. Thought this blueprint would help you understand the layout of our house.
The first thing we had to do was repair the foundation because it is an old house and now that foundation is finished we are starting on the living room first. For years, like literally since I have been able to go to those awkward middle school dances, I have been telling mom we need to do something about this wood paneling! I have hated it from day one! That and the ceilings will be what we tackle first. They are severely smoke stained and some of the panels need to be replaced. The wood paneling is actually staying but they hopefully will look nothing like wood paneling when we are finished. Our plan is to use a Sheetrock mud to fill in the gaps in the paneling and texture the walls and paint over them to make them appear like normal walls. We’ve seen it done and it looks great so here’s to hoping ours will turn out well!!!
Here are some before pictures and there will be more to come the more we do!
